System Requirements

A development computer must meet or exceed the following hardware and software requirements to run the Windows Embedded 8 Standard Toolkit.

Hardware Requirements:

  • 1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor.
  • 1 GB of operating system memory (32-bit system) or 2 GB of operating system memory (64-bit system)
  • 11 GB of free hard drive space for complete installation
  • One or more of the following media devices:
  • DVD-ROM drive
  • USB 2.0 port

Software Requirements:

  • Windows 7 SP1 operating system.
    You must have network access if you plan to use a catalog stored on the network or save your configuration file to the network.
